Comedian Dawn French is reportedly being lined up as head judge on Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's new BBC talent show, Superstar.
The show which looks set to go head-to-head with Simon Cowell's The X Factor later this year will see the hunt for someone to play the title role of Jesus in a new arena tour of the legendary rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar', which will open at London's O2 arena later this year.
On the Vicar Of Dibley star's involvement, a source told The Sun newspaper: “Andrew is looking for the cream of British acting and showbiz stars for Superstar and Dawn has caught his eye. She is outspoken, someone who connects with ordinary people and has years and years of experience.
“It’s early days but she is interested and they have been very taken with her in the initial conversations.” Bosses are still assembling the panel who will pick the person to play the lead role of Jesus Christ Superstar in an arena tour of the famous musical.
