Justin Bieber's new single 'Boyfriend' has been held off the top of the singles chart by his new label mate, Carly Rae Jepsen.
Justin, who recently announced he was returning to the UK in April, released his new single 'Boyfriend' on Sunday. British Beliebers were originally left waiting for the new track which had already topped the chart in 16 other countries.
Fans, eager to show their support for their idol, took to iTunes to download Bieber's songs in their thousands. Twitter was flooded with trending topics like #UKbuyBoyfriend and #BoyfriendUK.
However, despite all their efforts, 'Boyfriend' has failed to knock last week's No. 1 from Canadian Idol star, Carly Rae Jepsen off of the top spot.
Justin won't be too upset that 'Call Me Maybe' gets its second week at the top of the chart though, as Carly is Bieber's latest signing to Schoolboy Records under his manager, Scooter Braun.
The 'Call Me Maybe' singer released her debut album, 'Tug of War' on September 30, 2008.
